GIMME THAT, GIMME THAT || MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2019

With the breeze of a new year, come SO MANY new books in 2019 that make me feel like a kid in a book store that I've been looking forward and constantly needing to make room for more books. Also if you're like the title of this post made me start singing Britney Spears song.

I have organized all book releases by month from January to June. These are a mix of YA, NA and Adult fiction with a dash of contemporary and a few dashes of thrill. There is a variety of new authors I've been eying, some of my favorite authors and new prospects that debut this year.

JANUARY

I've never read anything from Jewel E. Ann so that'll be new to me author. But on the other hand, Sally Thorne's The Hating Game is an author easily became my favorite book.

FEBRUARY

I'm excited that I'm was able to get an ARC from NetGalley for The Winter Sister it's something about two sisters and the secrets that bind them. Of course, Kasie West is an auto-buy author and that's why Fame, Fate and the First Kiss is on the list.

MARCH

If you've seen Booktube videos or been following this for a while, you know I LOVE the Shatter Me series and when I saw Tahereh Mafi drop the cover release of Shadow Me on Twitter I  knew it was my sweet little cinnamon baby Kenji's time was here.

APRIL

I've always wanted to read Tif Marcelo because she's a Phillpino author who I found during the last 6 months of 2018 on Twitter. Also, I've been interested in reading Alexa Martin's Fumbled so I'm excited that I was able to get my hands on an ARC.

MAY

May is an exciting month because one of my fellow Booktubers Christine Riccio is debuting her first novel this year and I'm so happy for her. I'm planning on reading Helen Hoang's The Kiss Quotient because I've heard SO many amazing things about it.

JUNE

What authors, series, or standalones are you looking forward to reading or buying during the first half of this year?

MOST ANTICIPATED: TV & MOVIES OF 2019

As I was curating this list, I realized my top anticipated movies I felt like I like the movie producers were granting us our wish with 90's nostalgia and (hopefully) well-made remakes. So here are my picks for my anticipated media I want to watch in 2019!

GROWN-ISH SEASON 2 EPISODE 1 & 2 REVIEW || ZUCA & #RELATIONSHIPGOALS

Zoey and the rest of the crew have started their sophomore year and it's supposed to be better because that's what sequels are. Right? Well, Zoey, Ana, and Nomi have put their money together and bought the most lit apartment on campus. Well, so they thought because when they enter it is so not what they bought. Trash dump is more like the word you should use for what they actually bought. All the meanwhile, her and Luca have been in a long distance relationship (her back in the city and him in Paris).

So I've always been a fan of Zoey and Aaron together and the way she broke his heart and friend-zoned, that isn't any of my business. It could've been a best friends-to-lovers story that I would have been satisfied with. That's probably why I'm such a sucker for friends-to-lovers trope in everything.

Also, I hope that Ana doesn't try to snatch Aaron up because I was feeling some vibe from them when Aaron was dishing out advice. Her and Luca are really awkward some would argue and then some, on the other hand, think that Luca was just avoiding Zoe.

However, the way the coin flips, I think that it portrayed real relationships because so many of our friendships that turn into relationships are really awkward at first, because you've only been talking through a screen. You can't hug, snuggle, kiss or just touch that person. That's super understandable with trying to navigate the in-between stage from friendship to relationship. But if you're with the right person, it'll be smooth so easy that you say to yourself years later when you're with your S/O: This is so easy.

We are in a technology-driven world that is a lot of people base their relationship on what they see on social media and try to mirror that in their own relationships. Every relationship is different. Each has a different flow and one will never be the same, similar in ways, but not the exact same. We see what we are given to see on social media and think #RelationshipGoals.

What really are #RelationshipGoals? Or is it something that we don't see in our own relationship that we want and see in them?

"Relationships aren't about looks." - Ana to Zoey

"There wouldn't be one...there would be us." -Luca to Zoey

What are your thoughts on these two episodes? Do you think this season good potential going forward? How do you feel about #RelationshipGoals?
